MPS introduces Automated Print Control on its presses

The new system is aimed at improving the production of short-run print jobs.

MPS, the press manufacturer based in Didam, the Netherlands, has developed “Automated Print Control” for its presses, aimed at improving the production of short-run print jobs. The company says the term means that all “relevant mechanical adjustments are replaced by 100 percent accurate and maintenance-free servo motors.”

Press settings controlled by Automatic Print Control (APC) include plate to impression roller (left and right), anilox to plate (left and right), and lateral and length register control.

Press settings can be loaded automatically for initial jobs out of the press’ calibration database, and for repeat jobs from the job memory. APC also offers pressroom managers the possibility to calibrate the presses themselves. In addition, the MPS Crisp.Dot flexo print quality has been improved with APC, the company says.
